Easy to eat on the go, it can be held by it's stalk and consumed by hand. Over the years, elote has achieved such popularity that it's no longer reserved only as a street food, sold by Mexican street vendors. In recent years, it has been featured in upscale restaurants across the world, where it's treated as an international delicacy.
